Christmas won’t arrive on December 25 inside the Reid household this year.

As the Kansas City Chiefs brace for a heartbreaking holiday clash against the Denver Broncos — in what has become the franchise’s bleakest season in over a decade — head coach Andy Reid’s wife, Tammy, has revealed the family will be postponing Christmas until the 26th.

Speaking at Raising Cane’s bike giveaway for underprivileged kids in Kansas City, Tammy opened up about how football has once again taken priority over tradition.

“Since we have a game on Christmas, we’re delaying Christmas,” she said softly. “All 10 of our grandchildren will come over the next day, open their gifts, and we’ll spend the whole day together in matching pajamas — coach included.”

Yes… even Andy Reid has to wear the family jammies.

Every year, the Reids don coordinated Christmas sets — and this time, it’ll be green plaid. But behind the festive smiles lies the sting of a devastating campaign.

The Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 2014 after a brutal 16–13 loss to the Chargers — a game that also saw superstar Patrick Mahomes suffer a season-ending double ligament tear. A crushing defeat to the Titans last weekend only deepened the heartbreak.

Yet Tammy refuses to let disappointment steal the family’s joy.

“We’ve been to five Super Bowls in six years,” she said with a smile, flashing the three championship rings on her finger. “Who could ask for more than that? We are truly blessed.”

Instead of wallowing, Tammy turned her focus outward — helping gift 100 bikes and helmets to children at Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City.

“When coach and I got here 13 years ago, the Chiefs already had such a strong women’s organization,” she explained. “We go out into the community again and again. Giving back is part of who we are.”

So while Arrowhead may feel heavier than ever this Christmas, inside the Reid home, there will still be matching pajamas, chocolate-covered cherries, Bible readings — and a family determined to find light in a dark season.
